ASCA Update

Congratulations to Joseph Basilio (8A)! Joseph has been named Outstanding Catholic Graduate 2016 by the Archdiocese of Newark Superintendent of Schools.  He will be honored at Mass followed by a breakfast on April 16, 2016.

The students attended Mass on First Friday, March 4. The Student Council collected donations from the faculty and students during Mass for the Neary Family.  Shannon Neary (ASCA Class of 2015) and her family lost their home and belongings in a fire on February 27.

Students attended the Stations of the Cross and completed Lenten themed projects with their Prayer Partners on March 11.

ASCA celebrates Irish heritage March 1-March 17.  The front hallway is decorated with all things Irish – photos, heirlooms, trinkets.

Terra Nova Tests were administered to students in grades two through eight during the week of March 7-11.

The Girls’ Varsity Basketball and the Boys’ Pee Wee Basketball Teams won the Union County CYO Basketball Championships in their respective divisions.  Congratulations to both teams!

Open registration is ongoing for grades Pre-kindergarten -3, Pre-kindergarten-4, and kindergarten through eighth grades for the school year 2016-2017. Please call the school office (201-443-8384) for an appointment to come tour our school and meet our teachers.

ASCA HSA Goes Green

In keeping with the an effort to “Go Green” and reduce costs in our overall budget, the Home School Association would like to strongly encourage parents to check out the All Saints Catholic Academy school website, www.ascabayonne.org.  Also you can find out information on Face book under Home School Association for upcoming events and newsletters instead of receiving a paper copy.  If you have no way of printing out information these two ways, there will be copies available in the office that may be sent home with your child. Please complete the form and return with your child no later than Monday, September 28.  Click here to download the form.

Thanks From Mrs. Cole

Thank you for your ongoing support of ASCA’s Boxtops for Education and Campbell’s Soup/Pepperidge Farms label collection programs (check out their websites).  Your generous support of these programs has allowed our purchasing a number of items including: sidewalk chalk; jump ropes; board games; handballs; frisbees and a frisbee target; a set of hockey sticks; the stencil for the schoolyard map; and a second Panther costume.  All of these purchases were made with your recyclable ‘garbage’, so I urge you to keep saving boxtops and labels; encourage your family and friends to do the same!  You can send your collections to school at any time.  The more we collect, the more we can buy.  Thanks again.
