All Saints Catholic Academy (ASCA) celebrated their Third Annual Science Fair on March 23, 2011. This year the seventh and eighth grade students in Mrs. Diane Molesky’s Science class were challenged to invent an environmentally safe product with material made in America. Mrs. Molesky’s inspiration for this theme came from President Obama’s State of the Union address in January of this year, where he spotlighted science and technology innovations. Some of the ingenious inventions at All Saints Catholic Academy were titled Glare-Be-Gone, Green House Window Treatments, and Easy Charger. It was a great night for students to showcase their talents with the support and pride of their parents and teachers!

All Saints Catholic Academy (ASCA) is engaging young minds in the pursuit of science. At a time when parents are concerned that children are not getting the early background in science that they need*, rest assured that at ASCA, adequate time and effort is spent learning science concepts and experimenting hands-on to really absorb those concepts.

Our dynamic science program covers areas such as Earth, matter, and energy in the lower grades, and polymers and DNA in the upper grades. Our 7th and 8th grade classes have two labs per chapter. Some of the experiments they really enjoy are, double helix [DNA], fingerprinting, bug building using alleles, thermal energy (ice cream making), building an electromagnet, and making silly putty while understanding concepts of polymers.

Our science teachers are passionate about instilling a sense of curiosity in their students about the world around them.
