Each year, the Knights of Columbus sponsors an essay contest, Keep Christ in Christmas, for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who are enrolled at All Saints Catholic Academy and parish CCD classes. This year, ASCA boasts all three first place winners. Pictured (from left to right) are Mr. Policastro (head Knight), Gavin Skowronski (grade 7A), Eric Tonne (grade 6B), Alessandra De Dios (grade 8B), and Rev. Peter Wehrle (pastor, Blessed Miriam Teresa Demjanovich Parish). Congratulations!
On Wed., Dec. 6, All Saints Catholic Academy was recognized as a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School by the New Jersey Department of Education during an awards ceremony held in Trenton, New Jersey. All Saints Catholic Academy’s Student Council sponsored a “Toys for Texas” Drive benefitting Archdiocesan of Houston schools and families affected by the historic flooding of Hurricane Harvey. The 3 week drive yielded over $450 worth of gift cards to store like Toys R’ Us, Walmart, and Amazon.com and over 360 toys or games that will be distributed to students and families at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Crosby, TX, and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School in Galena, TX. Ryan Divan, a 6th Grader, and his father, who generously offered to pay for the shipping costs of all collected items, brought this idea to ASCA’s Student Council because Ryan wondered how he’d feel if his family lost his belongings in a flood. ASCA students also sent homemade Christmas cards to both schools.
