ASCA had its best showing ever at this year’s annual Marist Olympics! Congratulations to the students who were awarded trophies:  Christina Valenti, 2nd place in English; Naomi DeLeon, 3rd place in Art; Hannah Delaney, 3rd place in History; Karisma Garcia, 3rd place in Science; Coda Camaya, 3rd place in Computers; Peter Cifarelli, Christopher Ponczek, and Courtney Rei who as a team placed 3rd in General Skills.  Click here to view more photos.

ASCA hosted its first annual Forensics Tournament.  Students in grades 5-8 prepared for months under the direction of Mrs. Cardino, Ms. Hennessey, and Mrs. Stuckey.  In addition to our team, four other Archdiocesan schools competed:  Notre Dame Interparochial School, St. Dominic Academy, St. Francis Academy, and St. Nicholas School.  Five categories were offered, each for JV and Varsity.  ASCA placed 3rd overall.

Dancing Classroom

Our 5th graders were the stars of today’s school-wide assembly! For months they have been learning ballroom dances through our affiliation with NJPAC. Today they demonstrated what they have learned, read original poems, and explained each dance. They are more than ready to compete next week as we host five other schools to see who will advance to the Colors of the Rainbow competition at NJPAC.

We Remember

ASCA’s Student Council and Safety Patrol visited the 9/11 Memorial Museum. Students were educated about the events of the day through video, artifacts, and stories.  It was a moving and somber experience for the students and adults who participated.  Click here to view more photos.

Fun at the Beach!

Grades 4-6 enjoyed a field trip to Jenkinson’s Aquarium followed by fun on the beach!

Carnival Volunteers Needed!

We are in need of more parent volunteers to work this year’s carnival, which runs from Tuesday, May 2 to Saturday, May 6.  By clicking here you can see which shifts are available.  Download and print — send it to school Monday with your child.  The carnival is one of our highest-yielding fundraisers.  As an added incentive:  If you volunteer, your child(ren) will earn a free Tag Day to use any time before the end of the school year.  Thank you in advance!

ASCA Middle School Students at Marist

On Thursday, March 30, our 7th and 8th graders visited Marist High School to watch their performance of Les Misérables.  We enjoyed seeing several ASCA alumni bring Victor Hugo’s novel to life.  We were also glad to make a donation to #savemaristnj.  Pictured with Ms. Miesnik, Head of School, are Landon Paradine and Madison Russo-Alesi.
