Thank you for your ongoing support of ASCA’s Boxtops for Education and Campbell’s Soup/Pepperidge Farms label collection programs (check out their websites). Your generous support of these programs has allowed our purchasing a number of items including: sidewalk chalk; jump ropes; board games; handballs; frisbees and a frisbee target; a set of hockey sticks; the stencil for the schoolyard map; and a second Panther costume. All of these purchases were made with your recyclable ‘garbage’, so I urge you to keep saving boxtops and labels; encourage your family and friends to do the same! You can send your collections to school at any time. The more we collect, the more we can buy. Thanks again.

Archbishop Hebda celebrated our school Mass on Friday, May 1. It was certainly an impressive and beautiful Mass. The students were SO wonderful! We were honored and excited to host Archbishop Hebda. On the feast of St. Joseph the Worker, Archbishop Hebda reminded us that we grow closer to God through our own work. His visit was truly a blessing for the ASCA community.
We would like to plant mini trees in Mr. Lynch’s garden, which is located on 13th Street. They will beautify the front of the school, and we will decorate them for the holidays. We need your help, either in the form of garden material or a monetary donation. Please send your contribution in an envelope marked Mr. Lynch’s Garden. Thank you.
Registration forms are past due. Please send in the necessary information and payment ASAP.
Kudos and high fives to our 3rd and 4th grade boys’ basketball team who finished their UNDEFEATED season yesterday by winning the championship! Special thanks to Coach Hoffmann and Coach Kielb for giving so freely of their time, support, and expertise. The boys couldn’t have done it without you!
Do you know we have a school newspaper? Under the guidance of moderator Ms. Hennessey, her staff of students in grades 6-8 have been working on writing articles and taking photographs to put forth the mission of The Paw Print: to inform and entertain; to let us know about upcoming events and news in ASCA. Click the tab at the side menu to start reading!
The results are in — all the monies have been counted — congratulations to our ASCA student body for bringing in more money for the 2014 “Jump Rope for Heart” drive than any other school in Hudson County! Your generosity raised $7,753! Kudos!
The 2013/2014 Home School Board would like to extend our appreciation to Tom Attisano for all his help with getting the blinds installed on the windows in the gym. Thank you for all you have done!

The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children invites you to apply for a partial-tuition scholarship for your child for the 2015-2016 school year beginning January 1, 2015. Applications will be available by visiting their website at www.sficnj.org. Partial-tuition scholarships are awarded based on financial need without regard to race, religion, or ethnicity.
The deadline to submit your completed application is Aprl 15, 2015.
Being a current scholarship recipient does not guarantee an automatic scholarship award for the 2015-2016 school year. Current recipients as well as all new applicants must submit a completed application every year along with a $30 application fee and the required financial documentation. In addition, all previous financial award amounts are not guaranteed and can be changed from year to year.
All applicants will be notified of our decision on or before May 29, 2015.
