Thank You!

Another successful Field Day in the books.  Thanks to our many volunteers!
Whether you manned the grill, a game station, wrapped burgers or dogs, handed out chips or water, played softball, roll em, whiffleball, tug o war, ran relays,  or any of the other games or events, THANK YOU.   We could not have had such a great day without you.  Your donation of time and talent is much appreciated
God blessed us with a beautiful day and wonderful parents and friends like you.

ASCA Update

On Monday, May 23rd, 2016- 2017 Student Council Officer Elections were held. Students must meet numerous criteria to run including being in academic good standing, teacher recommendations, and addressing the student body with their platforms. Elected members are:
  • President: Greg VanSant
  • VP: Landon Paradine
  • Spiritual Director: Amber Kelly
  • Secretary: Brigid McCabe
  • Treasurer: A.J. Bianciella


ASCA’s annual Field Day was held on Wednesday, May 25, at Sixteenth Street Park.  A good time was had by all!  A special thanks to Mrs. Cole and all the parents volunteers.

The fourth graders enjoyed a field trip to Liberty Science Center, and the fifth, sixth, and first graders visited Jenkinson’s Aquarium.

ASCA celebrated Asian Pacific American heritage during the month of May.  The front hallway, “Heritage Hall” was decorated with heirlooms, trinkets, and artifacts from China, Korea, Philippines, and other Asian Pacific countries.

ASCA’s Student Council sponsors a collection of nonperishable food items and paper goods twice each month.  Collection dates for May were Tuesday, May 3, and Wednesday, May 18.  Items collected were donated to various parish food pantries.

Open registration is ongoing for grades Pre-kindergarten-3, Pre-kindergarten-4, and kindergarten through eighth grades for the school year 2016-2017.  Please call the school office (201-443-8384) for an appointment to come tour our school and meet our teachers.


newspaper-glassesA select group of 7th graders are attending Introduction to Medquest Classes at Marist High School on Friday mornings.  These classes are designed for students with an interest in science or pursuit of a medical career.  We are grateful to Marist High School for offering this opportunity to our students.

The STEM Expo Science Fair for grades 5 & 6 was held on May 4 and 5.  Congratulations to our future scientists and engineers! The winners are as follows:

The Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey performed A Midsummer Night’s Dream for students in Grades 5-8 on Friday, May 13.

Shakespeare LIVE!


The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey visited ASCA on Friday, May 13th as part of the Shakespeare LIVE! program. The troupe performed A Midsummer Night’s Dream for grades 5-8, and answered questions from the audience after the performance. The students loved the energetic production, and laughed heartily at the characters’ antics. It was a lovely way to spend a spring afternoon, and many were pleasantly surprised to discover that they enjoy Shakespeare!

Marist Academic Olympics


On Tuesday May 10th, sixteen 7th Graders represented All Saints Catholic Academy at the Marist Academic Olympics. The team members were AJ Bianciella (Science); Lucia Cantale (English); Matteo Capurso (Computers); Nicholas DePinto (Spelling); Matt Dobronsky (Math); Conor Hennessey (History); Vincent Mattiello (History); Brigid McCabe (Math); Caroline O’Rourke (Science); Matthew Page (General Skills); Landon Paradine (English); Riley Quinn (Art); Joseph Sisolak (Art); Alexandria Taveras (General Skills;) Gregory Van Sant (General Skills); and Jeffrey Van Sant (Spelling).

The General Skills team (Taveras, Page, G. Van Sant) placed third, and Matteo Capurso won first place in Computers. Congratulations to our winners and all our competitors!

Congratulations to Bianca Lumang, 4th grade, who was announced as a runner-up in Optimum Community’s Black History Month Essay Contest! Bianca’s essay, written about abolitionist and women’s right activist, Sojourner Truth, was chosen from more than 300 essays in the elementary school category.

Students throughout the tristate area were invited to submit an essay naming an African American with whom they would choose to spend a day and explain why. Bianca was awarded an iPad mini and had an opportunity to read her winning essay aloud to her classmates and special guest Assemblywoman Angela McKnight.
